Welcome to the Grosse Pointe Friends & Neighbors Club!

Our club was founded in the 1970s as the Welcome Wagon but has evolved over the years to include programs and events that encourage members to return year after year.  We are committed to providing a sense of community and a network of social contacts through our activities.  The club is open to all residents of the Grosse Pointe School District.  We especially welcome residents new to the area!

GPFNC is social club with the sole purpose of providing women in the Grosse Pointe area with opportunities to get to know each other and have fun!  It doesn’t matter how long you’ve lived in Grosse Pointe or what stage of life you’re in – if you want to meet new people and discover things you never knew about your hometown then this club is for you!

General membership meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of each month from September to May at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial.  Club business is shared and guest speakers from local venues provide fascinating lectures while we dine.  The club also offers opportunities to join book discussions, gourmet groups, craft get-togethers, and luncheons at area restaurants.

A Message From Our Club President...

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you for allowing me to serve as president this year.  It has been a wonderful experience.  I truly believe that we have an amazing group of women.  This group would not be possible without the help of our Executive Board, Auxiliary Board and our Chairs.  I would like to acknowledge the following people for taking on the positions and putting time in their schedules  to help the Grosse Pointe Friends and Neighbors Club be so successful:  Pam Meyer, Susan Budrys, Jo Darolfi, Christine Marohn, Nancy Schulte, Laura Sullivan, Kathy Keating, Camille DeMario, Jen Bingaman, Connie Deruiter, Kelley Vreeken, Kelley Smith, Katherine McMaster, Christine Alcantara, Kim Nehra, Holley Kubek, Ellen Chapin, Anne Musial, Nancy Pilorget, Josie Jackson, Eileen Reickert, and Anne Sutton.

I would also like to wish the best of luck to the 2012-2013 Board:

The new board is already making preparations for next year.  They have many of wonderful ideas, so there will be a lot to look forward to when we start up again in the Fall.  Check the website again in late summer for updated information on programs, book club selections, and Discover Detroit activities!

On Saturday, June 9th, will be the end of the year Cocktail Party.  Invitations will be going out soon, so please save the date.

Have a wonderful summer.  I hope to see you at the cocktail party.

Best Regards,
