Welcome to the website of the Grosse Ponte Friends and Neighbors Club!  Our club exists for the sole purpose of women in the Grosse Pointe area meeting new people and having fun.  Our group used to be the Welcome Wagon when it was first started in the 1970's.  While the format may have changed over the years, we continue to provide women with various programs and events to meet their neighbors and make new friends.

Our general meetings take place on the 1st Thursday of each month from September to May at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial.  You are sure to enjoy a delicious lunch and participate in a variety of programs such as wine tastings, home improvement, health & fitness and more.  The club also offers opportunities to join a book group, gourmet groups, monthly lunches at various Detroit area restaurants and other special events.  Since we are also a member of the Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce, our members can enjoy discounts for Chamber sponsored events.

For all our events, babysitting is also provided by the club.  This is a great chance for you moms with kids 2 1/2 years and older to finally make some time for yourselves.  Jack and Jill mom's day out has been in the child care industry for many years.  They provide story time and arts & crafts as well as general playtime.  They really make the experience fun for our kids

Please browse around our website and see the various opportunities at hand to meet other women from the Grosse Pointe area.   A membership form is available online for your convenience.  Just download it, fill it out & send it in!  We are a group of all ages and stages of life.  You're sure to not only run into old friends here, but to also make many new ones.  We look forward to seeing you!

Please note:  We're always looking for friendly comments or suggestions to help our website help you.  Please feel free to e-mail us with your ideas at rebeccapapas@gpfnc.com

PRESIDENT"S MESSAGE

March 2009

Hello Friends and Neighbors,

The nominations for the 2009/2010 Executive Board are in!  With great pride, I announce the new Board for next year:

President - Eileen Reickert
1st Vice President - Programs - Laura Sullivan
2nd Vice President - Membership - Vicki Cleveger
Treasurer - Jo Darolfi
Recording Secretary - Marcia Backer
Corresponding Secretary - Kelley Vreeken

Nominees:  Your mission, since you've accepted the challenge, is to show up at the March luncheon (March 5th) where the members present will vote you in.  After the March meeting, the President may then appoint the Auxilliary Board.

We are very pleased with your acceptance, and we look forward to another great year at GPFNC.  Thank you all!

Racelle

We are so fortunate to have such a dedicated, talented, hardworking group to take time out of their busy schedules to contribute to our group.  Kudos to all of you for stepping up to the plate!

Many thanks to the Nominating Committee of Racelle Armada, Kelley Vreeken, and Nancy Pilorget for putting this group together.

March is finally here and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than the program that Eileen Reickert has planned for us.  Jolie Kilpatrick of Rince na Grada School of Irish Dance will be on hand at the March 5th meeting to teach us a few steps.

Hope to see you all at the War Memorial with dancing shoes on!

Kathy Keating
President 2008/2009
